New Orleans comes to Oslo
Yesterday a septet of Norwegian men in their 20's, playing trad jazz! and aptly named Jazzin' Babies were joined by famous New Orleans trumpeter Duke Heitger at Oslo Jazz Festival -- and I was there!
Superb and surreal: 100 year-old people's music played by babies :)
A couple of them are barely 20, I hear.
And the energy of a seasoned jazz trumpet joining them from over there.
It was something!
All of it held in an old pub in the City Square, built around the year 1700.

I'm so glad you got to hear them--a one time only event, in the moment.
Hey! Speaking of NOLA, what about Dave Brinks as IBPC judge? Cool, huh?
He should be very good! Just ordered the second YAWP, somehow missed it coming out...the deadline is 15 Sept if you have anything for the third issue...
